About Jed

Jed is a successful entrepreneur and executive who, as owner and CEO of Coleman Resources, built a regional commercial printing and specialty manufacturing company that provided design, printing, fulfillment and logistics services. He repositioned the company from job shop manufacturer to contract supplier, tripled revenues and expanded facilities before negotiating for the sale to a regional consolidator.

Jed was recruited to the health care industry, to become CEO of a large medical practice with locations in seven cities, providing diagnosis and medical/surgical treatment for oncology patients. As CEO Jed lead a senior management team to realign with changes in healthcare. The team helped the practice meet the nation’s highest quality standards, initiate an annual clinical trials conference, and structure IT to meet meaningful use standards. He then led negotiations resulting in the practice joining Novant Health, a large integrated health care system. As an advisor, Jed has assisted middle market and startup companies focus on strategy and growth.

Client Results

RESULT #1: Lead the leadership team as non-executive chairman of a mid-market manufacturing company. Ownership succession occurred when Jed was the principal in a sell-side advisory assignment leading to a successful sale to a strategic buyer.

RESULT #2: Jed was the principle sell-side advisor to a specialty construction company well situated in the mid -Atlantic. The sell side process yielded competitive in-market offers with the owner successfully exiting to a family lead strategic buyer.

RESULT #3: Completed a post-merger integration project for a national consolidator in a professional services business. Jed lead a team of 4 Newport partners focused on realizing projected synergies in the acquisition using a best-of-breed approach.
