- Advise private equity and other investors on healthcare industry landscape and trends and specific opportunities, addressing business strategy and execution, operational assessment, and the competitive environment.
- Advise business leaders on creating a vision, aligning the culture and organization and mobilizing resources to achieve the vision; identify and coach leaders at all levels.
- Advise on change initiatives that enhance revenue and/or reduce expenses with associated KPIs.
Maureen brings to Newport over 30 years of senior-level and consulting experience in multiple levels of healthcare (acute, sub-acute, and long-term care), physician practice development, and senior living.
She has served as Senior Vice President & COO at a major Brown University teaching and research hospital and subsequently as President & CEO of a rural system of care. As Regional Director for a highly regarded senior living company, she had full operational and P&L responsibility for communities (rental & CCRC) throughout southern New England.
Her work included multiple turn-around situations requiring culture change, rapid adjustment of strategic direction, and market realignment. In this role, she successfully led the effort to create more industry-favorable State regulations resulting in recognition by Argentum (formerly the Assisted Living Federation of America) with the ALFA Public Policy Award.
Reduced an academic medical center’s costs, improved quality, and aligned the culture resulting in U.S. News and World Report recognition as one of top 100 hospitals.
Successfully developed and implemented strategic plans for new and enhanced product lines in acute care and senior living.
Achieved/exceeded owner and investor financial goals for start-up, stabilized, and turnaround rental and CCRC senior living communities.
