Tony Cord brings to Newport an accomplished background as a practice leader, business growth driver, board member and trusted advisor to mid-market, emerging growth and PE-backed companies and their sponsors. He leads Newport’s Mid-Atlantic Practice which serves the vibrant Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware/southern New Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania markets.
Tony has long been highly-visible in the “super-city” Baltimore-Washington, DC-Richmond, VA corridor – having served in leadership, strategic business development, CEO-advisory, M&A and operating roles in a wide spectrum of small, middle-market and Fortune 500 enterprises – including bootstrapped startups, PE-backed mid-market, emerging growth and publicly-traded global companies. He is a member of Leadership Greater Washington and a former trustee of the Federal City Council of Washington, DC.
His career has included leadership, deal making, BD and operating roles with top firms including American Express, BDO, Clifton Gunderson and Navigant Consulting. As a CEO Advisor he focuses on helping clients grow, innovate, transform or exit their businesses.
