About Ali

Ali is a former EY equity partner seasoned and results-driven with a 25+ year proven background of successfully developing global business strategies while also being employed at publicly listed turnarounds as well as Global Fortune 500 companies.

Ali excels at strategically representing the business and customer across the full spectrum of marketing, sales and service; His expertise includes strategy development as well as its implementation. He has developed and led high-caliber teams to deliver top results in the professional services market as well as in industry – globally.  Ali thrives in fast paced, ever changing environments that require critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, coupled with decision-making without 100% of data.  He has substantial industry experience in technology and industrial sectors prior to his consulting work.

  • RESULT #1:  Turned around Imation’s $180MM P&L and managed 15 member cross-functional team for global data storage diskette business; increased US market share 10 points to 40% and operating income by $4MM, while having a 30% global market share.
  • RESULT #2:  Converted major multinational client’s Americas business to EY that generated over $100MM profitable revenue over 10 years.
  • RESULT #3:  Developed multimillion dollar unprecedented business with Japan’s largest industrial steel companies to use American made specialty papers at their processing factories in Japan while at Mitsui & Co., Ltd..
  • RESULT #4:  While at Imation, resolved a multiyear major cross license dispute, within 1 year of being assigned to it, with a Japanese company which is a global household electronics brand, after Imation’s spinoff from 3M Company.  Resulted in going from an acrimonious, competitive relationship to one of co-development in R&D for future data storage technologies.
